Description:
Performing alongside Filippens, Sutch, and Valdai! Master pianist Fingin Collins records Mozart’s Piano Quartets! Fingin Collins, one of the flagship artists of the Claves label, has recorded Mozart’s Piano Quartets. Collins was born in Dublin, Ireland, in 1977. Since winning the Clara Haskil Competition in 1999, he has steadily advanced his career. Fingin, who has captivated audiences with her lyrical, delicate touch and rich expressiveness, has contributed to Volumes 1 (502601) and 3 (502806) of the complete Schumann piano solo works series being recorded by the Claves label. She was also highly acclaimed for her Chopin recital (501719), which she performed with a beautiful touch and meticulous attention to detail. Collins’s beautiful tone also shines in Mozart, where he performs alongside the distinguished artists Rosanne Philippens, Mate Szucs, and István Várdai. Violinist Philippens is currently one of the most promising young Dutch violinists, having won first prize at the 2009 Netherlands International Violin Competition and the Grand Prize at the 2014 Freiburg International Violin Competition. Viola player Sutch studied in Hungary and Belgium and has won prizes at various international competitions. He went on to perform with the Bamberg Symphony Orchestra and the Dresden Staatskapelle before joining the Berlin Philharmonic as principal viola in 2011—a truly exceptional talent. The cellist was born in 1985 in Pécs, Hungary. After studying at the Liszt Academy of Music, he studied under Gutmann and Starker in Vienna and Kronberg. He boasts an impressive competition record, including third place at the 13th International Tchaikovsky Competition in 2007 and first place at the Geneva International Music Competition the following year, in 2008. Please enjoy these gems of Mozart’s music performed by this stellar lineup of musicians. King International
