Paul Badura-Skoda's highly acclaimed! Fabrizio Sciovetta, born in Geneva in 1976, will perform Schubert's masterpiece, the Sonata in B-flat major. Ciovetta has studied with world-renowned teachers and pianists such as Paul Badura-Skoda, John Perry, and Dominique Weber, and has actively studied not only solo but also chamber music, vocal accompaniment, and improvisation in various performance styles. His teacher, Badura-Skoda, admired his playing and respected it for its subtlety and passionate emotion. In his solo discography, Ciovetta has previously released piano works by Schumann, but this disc, his first on the Claves label, focuses on Schubert, his specialty.The pieces are the masterpiece Sonata in B-flat major, a true test of a pianist's worth, and the Musikverein. The pianist is in his mid-thirties, and his performance is truly magnificent, with each note having a fine graininess, a beautifully luminous touch, and exquisite pedaling. As can be seen from the fact that she has studied accompaniment to Schubert's Lied works for a long time, this is an excellent performance that conveys her sincere interest in Schubert's intended interpretation and her careful construction of the music. This is a pianist to watch, and we can't help but look forward to her further success in the future. King International
