Born in Leipzig, the composer Rentchen (RENTGEN) was a naturalized Dutch citizen. He was known for his piano skills to the extent that he had a relationship with Brahms through Herzogenberg and played the "Piano Concerto No. 2" under Brahms's direction in 1887. Perhaps because of this, his works show the influence of Brahms, but he wrote quite original works in his later years. This Symphony No. 9 was written in 1930. It was written in a single movement and was not published during Lentchen's lifetime. Naxos Japan
