Lindberg of Oramo Magnus Lindberg’s Clarinet Concerto received its Japanese premiere at Tokyo Opera City’s “Composium 2004” event, conducted by Saraste and performed by the NHK Symphony Orchestra. Kari Kreik, to whom the piece was dedicated, also served as the soloist at the Tokyo concert. The performance, which incorporated theatrical elements, and the music, brimming with playfulness, captivated the audience. “Grand Duo,” in which the woodwind section (13 instruments) and brass section (11 instruments) engage in dialogue, and “Chorale” are orchestral works based on the chorale “Lord, It Is Enough” from Bach’s Cantata No. 20, “O Eternity, Thou Terrible Word.” Salonen gave the Japanese premiere at “Composium 2004.” (Information from the importer) [Track Listing] Lindberg: 1.
