The Eisler Lieder Collection is finally complete! Here is the conclusion of a grand project: Holger Falck and Steffen Schleiermacher's fourth collection of songs by German composer Hans Eisler. For the last in the series, the focus is on Eisler's early works (1917-1927). Eisler was initially a self-taught musician. He later studied composition with Schoenberg, and it was not until around 1923 that he published works as his senior pupil and became an independent composer. The expressive musical ideas in the early works recorded here are so complete that it is hard to believe that they were written by a young composer. The choice of poems is also excellent, with poems by Eichendorff, Buechner, Trakl, Morgenstern, and others. And his unique artistry is expressed in the "newspaper clippings. The album is the conclusion of a magnificent project by Holger Falck and Steffen Schleiermacher, who have turned even newspaper advertisements into music. King International
