This prestigious orchestra, whose podium has been graced by masters such as R. Strauss, Erich Kleiber, Karl Böhm, Sergei Celibidache, and Günter Wand have graced the podium of this prestigious ensemble. This is the landmark debut recording by Stefan Brunner, who assumed the role of music director for the 2008–09 season. Born in Bern, Switzerland, in 1964, he has built his career primarily in opera houses, though he also has extensive experience conducting various German radio orchestras; The program—featuring four romantic masterpieces by Schoenberg, including a brilliant arrangement of Bach’s Prelude and Fugue—is a testament to his confidence and clear intellect, as well as a reflection of the high expectations placed upon him.
