A collection of ground bass works for unaccompanied cello written from the Renaissance to the early Baroque! This album is based on the themes of "basso ostinato" and "viola bastarda"! A rich sound world that traverses ancient and folk music, improvisation and arrangement! This album is composed around the themes of "basso ostinato" and "viola bastarda," two musical traditions that developed throughout Europe from the Renaissance to the early Baroque period. The basso ostinato, in which the melody is freely transformed over a repetitive bass progression, has had a wide influence on the musical culture of Italy, Spain, France, Germany, and other countries. The term viola bastarda, on the other hand, was used not only to refer to a certain type of bass viol, but also to describe a sophisticated performance style in which multiple voices are expressed by one person (alla bastarda). In this work, Solvello brilliantly combines these traditions through the cello, creating a rich sound world that traverses ancient and folk music, improvisation and arrangement. Tokyo M-Plus
