Volume 2 of the series exploring Francesco Cilea as a composer of instrumental music! Francesco Cilea (1866-1950) is known as one of the most famous Italian opera composers of the late 19th and early 20th centuries, producing works such as his masterpiece "Adriana Lecouvreur". This second volume in a series of piano works reveals the essence of Cilea's appeal as a "composer of instrumental music," which has been unjustly forgotten due to his reputation as an opera composer. From his early works, in which his individuality as a composer had not yet fully developed and the influence of great musicians of the past is apparent, to his later works, composed after he had left the world of opera after composing his last opera, "Gloria," we can enjoy the evolution of Cilea's creativity. Also included at the end of the disc is a cello sonata by the duo Corrado-Conte with cellist Luca Corrado. Sandra Conte is a female Italian pianist who has performed as a pianist at major Italian music festivals and concert halls, as well as making her Carnegie Hall debut.As a composer, his works have been performed at important theaters in Italy and abroad.
