World premiere recording of Mascagni's film music "Satan's Rhapsody" in its entirety, arranged for piano! Satan's Rhapsody" is a silent film directed by Nino Occilia and starring Lida Borrelli, produced in 1917. The film focused on the myth of Faust and Dorian Gray from a woman's point of view, to which Mascagni added music that is still beloved more than a century later. The music was originally written in orchestral form, but the version included here is a piano arrangement by Mascagni himself. Since the film has not been preserved in its complete form, it is common for the music to be cut from the film, but this album is the world's first to include the complete version. This is a very significant album, as it is the first time to hear Mascagni's intention of seeking artistic perfection in films, rather than mere entertainment, in its complete form, even before the idea of the Seventh Art became widespread. Marco Attura is a young multi-talented pianist, conductor, and composer.He studied at the Bologna Conservatory, the Munster College of Music, and La Scala in Milan, and made his debut on the podium of the Teatro Indostri at the age of 23 with Puccini's "Gianni Schicchi" and Mozart's "Don Giovanni". He is a musician who has been steadily expanding his activities, including receiving the International Giuseppe Chiacca Award, which is given to those who are active in various fields such as arts, science, and sports.
