Paganini (1782-1840)
Description:
A historical masterpiece involving Paganini, Villaume and Civoli. Paganini's "Op.1" played by Milas, a brilliant Russian woman! Along with "Il Cannone" made by Guarneri del Gesu in 1743, a historical instrument loved by Paganini, another famous violin "Civoli" made by Jean-Baptiste Villaume in 1833 is kept in the Palazzo Tursi in Genova, Italy. Civoli", a violin made by Jean-Baptiste Villaume in 1833. When Paganini commissioned Viome to repair "Il Cannone," he simultaneously built and completed a replica of "Il Cannone" during the repair period, and later handed it over from Paganini to his pupil Camillo Sivori, who recorded Paganini's "24 Caprices" using this "Sivori. This special project was realized by recording Paganini's "24 Caprices" using the "Civoli", which was given by Paganini to his pupil Camillo Civoli. The violinist chosen to play the "Civoli", which together with the "Il Cannone" is maintained by the city of Genoa, is Ksenia Milas, a talented woman from Russia who is currently active in Italy. After making his soloist debut at the age of eight with the St. Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra, he won the first prize at the International Violin Competition in Athens at the age of nine, making a name for himself as a violin prodigy. She then studied at the Maastricht Conservatory of Music in Maastricht, the Netherlands, under the renowned master Boris Belkin, and graduated from the conservatory with honors in 2012. Currently, in addition to performing as a soloist in many European countries, she has been invited by Vladimir Ashkenazy to play a major role at the Imola International Music Conservatory since 2010, passing on the traditions of the Russian Violin School to its students. In addition, Swedish composer Jonathan Östlund, who was impressed by Ksenia Milas' performance, dedicated his composition "Paganini Fantasia" to her in January 2018, and the reputation and attention for her performance is steadily increasing. For her recording of Paganini at "Sivoli," Xenia Milas decided to couple not only the "24 Caprices" but also the "4 New Exercises," four studies recently discovered by Professor Danilo Prefumo. The content and completeness of the recording on the "Civoli", which has a close connection with Paganini himself, is further enhanced. The world of Paganini played by a brilliant Russian woman on a historical instrument with which Paganini, Villaume, and Civoli were involved. Expect more! Tokyo M-Plus
