DEATON LEMAY PROJECT, formed by two musicians from Houston, Texas: Roby Deaton (key) and Craig LeMay (drs/perc), has released two studio albums. The name DIGITAL LIFE PROJECT was changed to DIGITAL LIFE PROJECT, keeping the initials D.L.P., after Craig's departure! The first work after the name change, "DIGITAL LIFE", was released from Progressive Promotion Records in Germany in 2013! Despite the sci-fi theme of "AI-controlled robots giving birth to robot children" and the cyber-inspired cover, the album fully features vintage-feeling Hammond organs and 90s symphony-like nostalgic synths that will be welcomed with open arms by old-school progressive rock fans. The band's sound is a genuine American progressive hard to hard symphonic rock sound that is typical of the United States, which has produced bands such as KANSAS, STYX, and SPOCK'S BEARD.The album is a complete departure from the previous album, which focused on the techniques of each musician and featured many changes, but this album emphasizes the flow and consistency of the album and features a treasure trove of good melodies in both the instrumental and vocal parts, and is a great example of Canadian hard rock from the 70s and 80s. The album also features the superb high tone vocals of Hadi Klani, a vocalist from Iran who also participated in the previous two albums, and who grew up in the heavy metal field. The band's powerful sound, which boasts mainstream catchiness and persuasiveness, is a must-listen, surpassing even the previous album! Mike Thorne from SAGA joins the band as a supporting drummer.
