Rick Miller, a prolific composer and multi-instrumentalist from Quebec, Canada, who has been active primarily in TV and film music since the 1980s, releases his 2026 album! In addition to his own multi-instrumental playing—which meticulously weaves together delicate melodies within an immersive, atmospheric soundscape—the album features an ensemble of seven musicians, including, as on his previous release, Barry Haggarty (g), Sarah Young (fl), Kane Miller (vl), Mateusz Swoboda (vc), and Will (drs/perc) , and Carolina Prado (oboe)—a total of seven members—to create a nostalgic, folky sound that pays homage to the lyrical Euro-prog bands of the ’70s, such as Pink Floyd, The Moody Blues, THE ALAN PARSONS PROJECT—a nostalgic, folky sound that blends elegant chamber-music-style arrangements with refined melodic rock. The wistful vocals, which lay bare inner emotions and seem as if they might vanish at any moment, carefully construct the album’s worldview and narrative, while a soundscape reminiscent of a film score creates a sense of depth—a superb album that draws you deeper into its richness with every listen!
