Featuring members of e.s.t. and members of Atomic, the classic album *JAZZFURNITURE* by *Jazz Furniture*—which captures the splendor of 1990s Swedish jazz—is being reissued and released for the first time on LP by the long-established Swedish label Caprice! Jazz Furniture features members of Sweden’s leading jazz piano trio, e.s.t. (the Esbjörn Svensson Trio)—Esbjörn Svensson, Dan Berrillund, and Magnus Öström—as well as Magnus Blue and Fredrik Jungkvist, who later became members of the Norwegian/ the Swedish jazz band Atomic, including Magnus Brö, and Fredrik Jungkvist—six young, up-and-coming musicians of the time (who have since become legendary masters). The band won the “JazziSverige” award in 1994. Their only recording was originally released on CD in 1994 as “CAP21449,” but Swedish musician Jonas Kullhammar produced this reissue, making this vinyl release possible. As the album cover suggests, the band was driven by a passionate conviction to “smash up old jazz furniture.” With roots in the 1950s and 60s, they used rock-inspired styles to create a new form of jazz, bringing the cutting-edge Swedish jazz of that era back to life for today’s listeners.
