Description:

What a brilliant performance! Johan Dahlene, winner of the Carl Nielsen International Music Competition, recorded the Sibelius Concerto with Nielsen! Mr. Robert von Bahr, the owner of BIS label in Sweden, highly recommends this violinist, Johan Dahlene. Mr. Barr has been a great admirer of Dahlene's talent since he was nine years old. The media around the world have praised Dahlene's performance as "one of the finest debuts by a violinist in the last ten years" ("BBC Music Magazine") and "Dahlene's playing has a presence that shows he is a musician of special sensitivity" ("Gramophone"). The BIS label has released the violin concertos by Tchaikovsky and Barber (BIS SA-2440) and "Nordic Rhapsody" (BIS SA-2560), a collection of works for violin and piano by representative Scandinavian composers of the 19th and 20th centuries. The two albums are "Nordic Rhapsody" (BIS SA-2560).In this highly anticipated third volume, we have recorded the Sibelius Violin Concerto with Nielsen, one of Scandinavia's leading musicians! Darlene won the Carl Nielsen International Music Competition held in 2019. In November of the same year, she made her first visit to Japan, where she performed Nielsen with the Japan Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Nicolai Snyder. His overwhelming performance thrilled the audience, and this recording has been eagerly awaited by Japanese fans. The coupling Sibelius is also a masterpiece. This is another of Dahlene's specialty works, and he gives an astonishing performance with his natural sense of pitch and brilliant tone. Born in Norrköping, Sweden in 2000, Dahlene began violin lessons at the age of four and played with a professional symphony orchestra for the first time three years later. She studied with Per Enokson at the Royal Stockholm School of Music and has attended master classes with Dora Schwarzberg, Pamela Frank, Gerhard Schulz, Detlef Hahn, and Henning Klaggereud. She has been a guest soloist with orchestras in Europe, China, and South Africa, and has appeared in recital with Roland Penttinen, Ingri Anthnes, and others. Also in 2018, he was taught by Janine Jansen, Leif Ove Ansnes and Gidon Kremer in the "Norwegian Crescendo" program. A gem of the new era and a leader in the classical world, he is a must-see! The violin he plays is an Antonio Stradivarius made in 1736. The instrument was loaned by "Anders Sveaus Public Benefit Fund" in Oslo. King International
