Three ensembles from southern Sweden perform together! Monteverdi's "Orfeo" with Linderoth, Helgren, Forsström and other splendid soloists! !SACD hybrid disc. Monteverdi composed "Orfeo," an "allegory with music" in 1607, which is considered the first opera in the true sense of the word due to its structure of five acts, the number of characters, the clear orchestral writing style, and a script based on classical mythology as well as operas of later periods, The new recording on the BIS label is the result of a collaboration between three ensembles from southern Sweden. The new BIS label release is the result of a collaboration between three ensembles from southern Sweden.Tenor Johan Linderoth, sopranos Christina Helgren, Christine Nombor Anassen, and Maria Forsström, and other experienced singers of Renaissance and early Baroque vocal works, are active on the ancient music scene in the university city of Lund. The vocal group Ensemble Lundabarok, formed as the ensemble-in-residence for the Hall Baroque Festival, held every summer since 2012 in the town of Hall, will perform in 2016 the "Telemann, Corelli, J.S. Bach Suites and Concertos" (BIS SA-2235). They won a Swedish Grammy for Luhmann's "Music of Golovin" (BIS SA-2355). And then there is the brass group Ensemble Altapunta, which brings together three ensembles, and is led by Fredrik Malmberg, who studied at the Malmö University of Music and is currently professor of choral conducting at the Royal Stockholm School of Music and principal conductor of the Erik Eriksson Chamber Choir.The ensemble involved in this recording includes many players who have performed and recorded "Orfeo" numerous times, such as Ole-Christian Andersen, who plays trombone and cornet in the Ensemble Altapunta. summer 2019, at the Aeslöve Church in Lund.
