The beautiful melodies of the Oslo Soloist Choir, one of the finest ensembles in Scandinavia, present their second Christmas album, "Come", on SACD hybrid. After releasing their first Christmas album, "Ros" (BIS SA-2029), in 2013, the Norwegian Soloist Choir and Grete Pödeschen have been presenting a Christmas concert every year. Jörgen Larsen, one of Norway's most beloved musicians among people and children, will also participate in the concert following the album, which is said to have established itself as a warm time during the cold season that audiences look forward to. December is a time of anticipation. We wait and hope. The Norwegian Soloist Choir's second Christmas album, "Veni", was created with the same concept in mind: "Art music and traditional music united". From "Trad," in addition to Jörgen Larsen, the choir features Marco Ambrosini, who plays the key fiddle hickelharpa, and bassist Sondre Mysfjord.The program includes widely familiar carols such as "God's Son Tonight," "In the Mabune," and "This World is Uruwashi," as well as unique arrangements of Norwegian folk songs, Ives' "Christmas Carols," and "Improvisation" with nyckelharpa and bass, all performed in varied formations.
