Description:
Also performed by Gringolz! The second collection of Albet Schnertzel's works is a collection of chamber and orchestral music! Albet Schnertzel was born in 1972. He is one of the most widely acclaimed composers of his generation in Scandinavia. This is the second collection of Schnertzel's works after "Tales from the Suburbs" (BIS SA-2313), which contains three orchestral works, including the cello concerto "Diamonds of Madness". The album's title track, "The Stranger in Burbank," is the result of a collaboration between Joseph Haydn, who "must have influenced today's music," and director Tim Burton, who spent his childhood in the Los Angeles suburb of Burbank and has made films such as "Scissorhands" and "Mars Attacks," a "playful and The composition is about two artists who are similar in their "love of fun and burlesque. Since its premiere by the New Stockholm Chamber Orchestra in 2008, the work has been performed more than 70 times by over 30 orchestras at venues such as the Berlin Philharmonic and the Amsterdam Concertgebouw. The April 2021 session by Simon Crawford-Phillips and the Vesterås Sinfonietta is a world premiere recording. Violin Concerto No. 2 "Night Songs" was co-commissioned by the Uppsala Chamber Orchestra, the Swedish Chamber Orchestra, and the Jönköping Sinfonietta for Ilaria Gringolts. It is written in four movements against a backdrop of "the sensation of floating without gravity, caught between two different worlds, the waking state and sleep. The work consists of four movements: "Levitate," which attempts to capture the sensation of floating in space; "Bal des Ardents," a ball of burning men held by King Charles VI of France in Paris in 1393; "Procession," in which "strange imaginary animals" appear in Schneltzel's dream; and "Sleep," in which a group of "strange imaginary animals" escape from a dream and are captured in the "Levitate" movement. The piece will be premiered in Uppsala on April 11, 2019. This is also the world premiere recording of this piece. Another orchestral piece, "Burn My Letter - Memories of Clara," is Schnellzel's attempt to express the energy and "thirst for life" of Clara Schumann. One main theme divides into dialogue between the "wild and free" flute representing "Clara Schumann" and the "thoughtful" bassoon of "Johannes Brahms". This is a world premiere recording, using the "Chamber Orchestra" version. Three chamber works. Dances with the Devil" for solo piano, which "crosses two 'Satanic' traditions: the romantic virtuoso music of the Lists and the heavy metal music of 'our time.'" The "Dance of Apollo" for violin and piano, written in two movements, "The Birth of Apollo" and "Adolescent Apollo" using different klezmer scales as harmonic material, is a work inspired by the gods of Greek mythology. The "Frozen Landscape" is a piece inspired by a Greek mythological god. The "Frozen Landscape" is a piece inspired by the winters Schnellzel spent in the mountains of northern Sweden when he was a young man. The "Frozen Landscape" is a work for cello and piano that depicts a vivid memory of a winter's day spent in the mountains of northern Sweden when Schneltzel was a young man. King International
