SACD Hybrid Edition of Bassoon Concertos Including World Premiere Recording of Dupuis Bassoonist Bram van Sambeek, born in the Netherlands in 1980, presents a remarkable new recording of concertos by Mozart, Weber, and Dupuis. From 2002 to 2011, he was principal bassoonist of the Rotterdam Philharmonic, and since 2015 he has been a guest principal bassoonist with the London Symphony Orchestra and the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra, while also training younger players at the Royal Conservatory of Music in The Hague. He has also released a recording of the bassoon concertos of contemporary Finnish composers Aho and Fagerlund on the BIS label (BIS SA 2206). Of note is the world premiere recording of Dupuy's bassoon concerto. Dupuy was a Swiss-born musician who worked as a violinist, singer, and composer in Sweden and Denmark. The bassoon concerto also impresses with its rich melody, which is characteristic of Dupuy. Sambæk sings freely with good support from Ogrynczuk, who has been active as a conductor in recent years.Bassoon fans will love this new recording. King International
