British baritone James Rutherford, an acclaimed Wagnerian singer, brought his spacious voice to his debut Wagner album on the BIS label (BIS SA-2080 / recorded in 2013). She then took on the challenge of singing Schubert's Lieder, including his Swan Songs (BIS SA-2180 / recorded in 2015), which has enhanced her reputation as a German Lieder singer. This highly anticipated album is Schubert's second, Winterreise. In this album, she sings with all her soul in this masterpiece of 24 songs written in the last years of Schubert's life, just before his death. In this performance, the entire piece is sung in a transposition of the minor third degree. King International
