The beautiful violinist Karen Gomei's second release on the BIS label commemorates the 100th anniversary of Piazzolla's birth! Karen Gomei was born in Tokyo in 1982, moved to Montreal at the age of 2, started playing violin at the age of 5, and won the first prize at the Canadian Music Competition at the age of 9. She studied under the renowned teacher Dorothy DeLay and continued her studies at the Juilliard School of Music. She is currently based in the United States, where she is active as a soloist. In November 2013, she appeared in the NHK Special "Mystery of the Supreme Violin Stradivarius", a documentary that visited Cremona, Italy to discover the secrets of the Stradivarius, the most famous violin in history, and performed the sound of the famous instrument "Aurora" The album features the refined and refined sound of Gomei's violin, the "Aurora". In this album, Gomei's refined expressiveness brings Piazzolla's world of passion and sensuality to life. The Stradivarius is also used to express this masterpiece.
