Frank-Gemmill's playing is superb, bringing out the individuality of each piece. Alec Frank-Gemmill is the principal horn player of the Scottish Chamber Orchestra as of 2018. The horn requires a high level of technique, and Frank-Gemmill sings eloquently and captivates the listener with his almost flawless technique.His previous release on the BIS label, "Noble and Melancholy Instruments" (BISSA2228), a collection of works by composers who lived in the 19th century, is also a substantial album that allows the listener to appreciate the individuality of each composer through the horn as an instrument.
