Alice Tegner was born in Karlshamn in southern Sweden. She studied at Swedish schools and then lived after her marriage in the new suburb of Jochholm, where she studied with organists Gustav Högg and Johan Lindegren.Said to have inherited the musical talent of her father, who died in a maritime accident, she wrote many choral pieces and songs, including works for the town church. Gustav Nudqvist was born in Stockholm. He studied organ, piano, and composition at the conservatory, and after working as an organist and cinema musician, he went to Berlin to study. He returned home at the beginning of World War I and was appointed organist at the Adolf Fredrik Church. He held this post for 35 years until his death and participated in the founding of the Society of Composers. He composed organ pieces for church functions, piano pieces, and songs with texts by Swedish and Swedish-Finnish poets. Most of his piano pieces and songs have been published. The Dandereid Vocal Ensemble, a part of Dandereid's musical activities, was founded in 2008 by Riccardo Karlsson, who studied organ and choral conducting at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm. This is a valuable disc that acquaints the listener with music that has rarely been presented in recordings by Tegnehl and Nudqvist. King International
