The “Boléro” serves as a breathtaking finale. The performer, Gunnar Edenstrum, was born in Sweden in 1961. He enrolled at the Royal Academy of Music in Stockholm and graduated in 1986 with a Special Award. While a student, he studied abroad at the Paris Conservatoire under Marie-Claire Alain, receiving the Excellence Award in 1984 and the Virtuosity Award in 1985. In 1984, he won first prize at the Chartres International Organ Competition in France, a contest dedicated to organ improvisation. Since then, he has been active worldwide as a concert organist and is highly acclaimed for his wide-ranging repertoire—spanning from Baroque to contemporary works—as well as his exceptional improvisational skills.
