This piece was written in 2004 by Lindberg—a virtuoso trombonist who has recently been gaining attention as a composer—for Antonsen. “Akbank Bunka” is a neologism coined by Lindberg himself, meaning “Bank of Culture”; it is not a modern piece, but it is, above all, an entertaining work. The performers—Vesman from Finland, Byström from Sweden, and Jansson from Norway—are all highly distinctive, and Antonsen’s golden tone truly shines.
