The 26th installment of the “Bach Cantata Series” by Bach Collegium Japan features three works from 1742. The opening chorus of Cantata No. 180 is considered one of the most beautiful pieces not only in Bach’s cantatas but in all religious music. The solo performances by Yukari Nonoshita (S), Ryo Sakurada (T), and Peter Kooi (Bs) are also well worth listening to.
