Formed in 1981 around Derk Akkermann (g/key)—who remains the band’s sole original member to this day—this veteran German melodic rock and neo-prog band’s 2026 album has been released by Progressive Promotion Records in Germany! The band underwent a major lineup overhaul for this album; aside from Derk, only Henrik Wager (vocals) and Lutz Gunther (bass) remain from the previous album. The new lineup features an impressive roster, including Jimmy Keegan (drums) of SPOCK’S BEARD and the current PATTERN-SEEKING ANIMALS, as well as Martin Schnella (guitar), who has been active in various areas of the current progressive rock scene—including stints with TOXIC SMILE, STERNMEISSEN, and DAMANEK—and Marek Arnold (sax)—who is currently active in various capacities within the progressive rock scene, having played with TOXIC SMILE, STERNMEISSEN, and DAMANEK—and Martin Schnella (g), who has performed with FREQUENCY DRIFT, SEVEN STEPS TO THE GREEN DOOR, and FLAMINGROW, among others. Their masterful performances have elevated the band’s sound to new heights. Since the band’s reunion in 2006, their “neo-prog × melodic hard rock” sound—cultivated over the past 20 years—has become even more grandiose and dramatic, making this a must-listen album for any symphonic rock fan!
