SINGLELITO is a solo project of Juan J. Pinto, a multi-instrumentalist from Colombia, South America, born in 2006 (!), who started his music career at home in 2019 and has been sharing his music through various online media such as bandcamp/YouTube since 2020. This is a complete one-man album that demonstrates Juan's multi-skills, from composition to instrumentation, recording, mixing, and mastering, all done by Juan himself. The album is characterized by its musicality, which is also commonly referred to as "Neo-Canterbury", showing respect for the good old Canterbury music from a new and innovative perspective that resonates with labelmates ZOPP and Tom Penaguin, who Juan has been in contact with.The album opens with a strong attack of vintage Mellotron/Hammond keyboards playing rough tones, and then warm and fuzzy Canterbury-style organ and strumming guitars emerge with vocals over psychedelic jazz-rock-style drums with a great live feel. The album features songs that incorporate Canterbury music style with the essence of Alterna and South American heat/humidity, including "Leave, Left, Gone," which should ring a bell with fans of that style. This is an important work that shows great promise for the future, as it reconstructs Canterbury music from the perspective of today's youth, who absorb a wide variety of genres, both old and new. A bonus track, "A Lullaby For You, But You Didn't Sleep" from the album "Flight" released in 2010 is included.
