A highlight of this recording is the collaboration with renowned virtuosos who have served as principal players in major orchestras: Wright of the Boston Symphony Orchestra and Drucker of the New York Philharmonic. While the ensemble’s long career—spanning 60 years since its founding in 1946—has yielded numerous recordings of these works, this release is exceptionally valuable for the Juilliard Quartet, even if it is not their first recording of these pieces. The significance of this release is by no means small. Moreover, given that the ensemble has had the good fortune to perform with these guest artists on several occasions—including this live recording—and that the performances are exceptional, this release is all the more valuable. It truly captures the essence of chamber music at its finest and is sure to provide a deeply fulfilling listening experience.
