Fischer-Dieskau's treasured son Thomas Ollimans re-recorded "Winterreise"! Thomas Ollimans, the Dutch virtuoso who has been called the second coming of the famous French baritone Gérard Szée, is one of the main artists of Channel Classics and is a master of both modern and period instruments. The second duo recording with pianist Paolo Giacometti is a collection of Lieder "Winterreise" by Schubert, one of the greatest Lieder composers of all time. In the previous recording, "Schumann (CCS 38416)," Giacometti played two fortepianos separately, but in "Winterreise" he uses the eloquent tone of the Steinway to create a wide variety of expressions. This is also a long-awaited re-recording of "Winterreise," as Ollymans recorded it more than a decade ago with Bert van den Brink's accompaniment. This recording is a long-awaited re-recording of "Winterreise," which Ollymans says he has been reexamining, reflecting on, and reading the score every year as he sings it. Tokyo M-Plus
