Born in Milan in 1970, Giacometti is currently active primarily in the Netherlands, where he serves as a professor at the Utrecht Conservatory. The Rossini series, which he has performed with rich interpretations and exceptional technique, is scheduled to conclude with the upcoming Vol. 8. Another notable point is his change in instrument: from the 1858 Erard he played on the previous volume to an 1858 French Pleyel piano, which is said to have been a favorite of Chopin’s.
