Sabrina Teitelbaum, aka Blonde Shell, is a singer-songwriter from New York City. Her self-titled debut album was released on the prestigious Partisan Records label. Sabrina Teitelbaum aka Blondshell will release her self-titled debut album in April 2023 on Partisan Records (IDLES, Beth Orton, Fontaines D.C.). Over the past few years, the 25-year-old Teitelbaum has transformed into a songwriter who fears nothing; Teitelbaum launched Blondshell in 2022 with the singles "Olympus," "Kiss City," "Veronica Mars," and "Sepsis" ( Rolling Stone's "Recommends" #1 song of the month) caught the attention of critics and fans alike. Born and raised in New York City, Teitelbaum moved to Los Angeles in 2015 to attend music school, where she enrolled in USC's pop program and immersed herself in the pop legacy of Lorde and Lana Del Rey. What these pop songs gave her was a clear realization that she did not belong there. Her music became increasingly raw and intense and not easily categorized. And she allowed herself to write without expectation.She started writing songs just for herself, with no thought of releasing them, and each note of Blondshell is filled with such honesty. During the world's sudden stop, she resumed playing guitar and revisited 90's alternative rock like Nirvana and Hole. She also immersed herself in the writings of Patti Smith, RebeccaSolnit, Rachel Cusk, and Clare Sestanovich with patience and permission.
