Church music by three French composers and organists, Widor, Vierne, and Saint-Saens. It is also known as a tourist attraction with close ties to the court, where weddings of Maria Theresa and Franz I were held. The choir and orchestra of St. Augustine's Church, led by Robert Rieder, is in charge of the music in this historic church. This album is a collection of church music including solemn masses by three French composers, Widor, Saint-Saens, and Vierne. They have in common that they were excellent organists as well as composers. The organist on this CD is Wolfgang Capek, who is also the organist at St. Augustine Church. King International
