Clark Terry, one of the greatest and most important trumpeters in the history of jazz, recorded live in Holland in 1979 with his big band led by Clark Terry himself for the first time. Clark Terry's Big Bad Band Live in Holland 1979," a live recording with his own big band, has been released. Clark Terry's original style and technique, which included playing both trumpet and flugelhorn with both Count Basie and Duke Ellington's orchestras, has been used by many great musicians, including Wynton Marsalis, Art Farmer, Miles Davis, and Clark Terry's original style and technique has been a major influence on many fine jazz musicians, including Wynton Marsalis, Art Farmer, Miles Davis, and Quincy Jones. Active worldwide both with his own orchestra and as a big band soloist, he died in 2015 at the age of 94, but his music is destined to live on forever. He received numerous awards and honors, including a Grammy Award and a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 2010. In addition to Clark Terry himself, many other top-notch musicians from the heyday of big band have performed.Clark Terry's introduction of the songs and members of the band is in a groove, culminating in the hit M-10 "Mumbles," made famous by his many years as a key member of the Tonight Show Band. The entire band is in great form, and the bright approach to every note played shows ample evidence of why he is considered one of the greatest trumpet players in jazz history.
