Description:
Principal Flute of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra of the Netherlands! New Bach arranged by Kjersten McCall! A solo album by Kjersten McCall, long-time principal flutist of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, is released on the Dutch high-quality sound label TRPTK! Having obtained the "finished version" (only a few bars) of the first movement of the A major sonata from a friend some years ago, he has perfected the work in his own way, tried it out in various performances, modified it, destroyed it, rebuilt it, and arrived at the flute sonata (BWV 1032), in which the polyphonic structure is made more clear. The flute sonata (BWV 1032) has been arranged as a trio sonata version with violin and cello to make the polyphonic structure clearer. The unaccompanied Flute Partita (BWV 1013) has a harpsichord accompaniment, the C major Sonata (BWV 1033) is a version for flute, cello, and harpsichord, and the Sonata for Solo Violin (BWV 1005) is a polyphonic sonata for flute and four alto flutes. The Sonata for Solo Violin (BWV1005) is a polyphonic work with four flutes and an alto flute. In between, he also performs some of his own contemporary compositions, making for an extremely interesting Bach flute album.Kirsten McCall (Carsten McCall) is a native of Germany, winner of the 1997 Kobe International Flute Competition and third prize winner of the 2000 ARD Munich International Music Competition. He has played principal flute with the Saarbrücken Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Berlin Philharmonic, the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, and the New York Philharmonic, and since 2005 has been principal flute of the prestigious Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra (RCO) in the Netherlands. He is also world-renowned as a chamber musician, and is a member of the Ensemble Est! Est! Est! for new music, as well as a member of the Renos Ensemble and Musica Reale, which is composed of members of the RCO. Tokyo M-Plus
