Description:

Bob James - a landmark work that unravels the missing link in his early years!1965, two different piano trios perform a performance that even inspired ESP's Bernard Stollman to focus on mainstream performance, a performance full of lyricism, and a crossover world where Bob James is a major force! The talent of Bob James! A groundbreaking discovery that captures the earliest days of popular jazz/keyboardist Bob James! Bob James, who turned 80 years old last year in 2019, is a very popular fusion/crossover artist. On the other hand, he also played at OnceFestival, one of the most extraordinary adventures in American music history from 1961-65, and in 1964, he performed with Eric Dolphy. Known as the composer of the still radical contemporary composition "Jim Crow / A Personal Statement," he released "Explosions" on the ESP label. He is also known as the composer of "Jim Crow / A Personal Statement," a piece of contemporary music that can be described as a contemporary piece of music. This album reveals the missing link in Bob James' early career. The recording was made by George Clavin, founder of Resonance. The work consists of two parts, both from 1965. However, they feature different rhythm sections and different styles of playing. The first part was recorded on January 20, 1965, with Robert Poser, who was also a member of "A Personal Statement," on drums. This performance also shows the avant-garde side of the band, including the use of a prepared piano. This is the performance that inspired the founder of ESP, Bernard Stollman. According to Clavin's words in the work's commentary, Stollman was so impressed that he decided to record the performance, which became "Explosions. The recording was called "Explosions. The second half, on the other hand, was recorded on October 9. It is a mainstream performance, with recorded delicacy and lyricism. Clavin's account also states that in late 1965, Clavin called Bob and asked him to "record a performance that would be in contrast to 'Explosions'.The up-tempo "Air Gin" shows a grainy and lively performance, and "Indian Summer," which Bill Evans also performed, shows a beautiful harmony and delicate ballad performance that also shows his respect for and study of Evans. The album also shows the brilliance of Bob James, who has perfected the composition of the music up to the present day. The recording was made at Columbia University's Wollman Auditorium stage. This work also reveals the secret of Bob James' great talent, which has kept him at the forefront of the jazz world for more than half a century.
