The Darkness (Justin Hawkins, Dan Hawkins, Frankie Poullain, Rufus Tiger Taylor) will release their new album Produced, engineered, and mixed by Dan Hawkins, Motorheart is the band's seventh album, two years after their last UK Top 10 hit, Easter Is Cancelled. It is the band's seventh album. The first single is the title track, "Motorheart," which is "more intense than any of my previous songs. This song makes me happy. I turn up the volume with confidence and my house in Switzerland shakes from its foundations, Dan did a great job with the production and I can't wait to hear what he has in store for us in the future. This song takes your makeup off.But it goes from ear to ear and you become the Grinning Skull (a bare skull that looks like it's smiling). The Darkness was formed in Suffolk, England in 2000. The Darkness consists of Justin Hawkins on vocals and guitar, Dan Hawkins on guitar, Frankie Poullain on bass, and Rufus Taylor on drums. With Justin Hawkins' high tone vocals at the core of the band's sound, the band's soudon is influenced by AC/DC, Queen (Rufus Taylor on drums is the son of Roger Taylor of Queen), Aerosmith, Led Zeppelin, and other 70's hard rock bands. In 2003, their debut album "Permission to Land" was released, reaching #1 on the UK charts and #36 on the US charts.Five singles were released from the album, with "I Believe in a Thing Called Love" reaching #2 on the UK Singles Chart. The following year, 2004, the band won three Brit Awards for Best Group, Best Rock Group, and Best Album. At the Kerrang Awards, the band won two categories: Best Live Act and Best British Band. 2005 saw the release of their second album, One Way Ticket To Hell.... In 2005, the band released their second album, "One Way Ticket To Hell...And Back," but Justin Hawkins left the following year, effectively disbanding the band. Last Of Our Kind" (#12 on the UK charts), and their fifth album "Pinewood Smile" (#12 on the UK charts) in 2017.Their sixth album, 2019's "Easter Is Cancelled," debuted at #10 on the UK charts (#1 on the same rock/metal chart).
