Hallvard Gaardlos (b/vo), frontman of the psychedelic/hard rock band SPIDERGAWD and the stoner rock band DRAKEN, Karl Haugland Bjora (g) of MEGALODON COLLECTIVE and other free guitarists, and Vegard Lien Bjerkan (key/vo) of SOFT FFOG/RELLING/SOUNDER FORESTED ENSEMBLE. Haugland Bjora (g), Vegard Lien Bjerkan (key/vo) from SOFT FFOG/RELLING/SOUNDER FORESTED ENSEMBLE, Axel Skalstad (drs) from KROKOFANT/SOFT FFOG, and others. WIZRD is a new band formed by four members who are already active in the Norwegian music scene, including Martin Horntveth (drs), original member and drummer of JAGA JAZZIST, and their '22 debut album is now available on Karisma Records in Norway. Records in Norway! In addition to the galloping ensemble led by the organ and freaky guitar that dances over odd-numbered beat phrases, and the bass/drums that produce a flexible groove,The over-effects arrangements definitely suggest a yearning for 60s/70s psychedelic pop and Canterbury pop, and the rich harmonies of the Yes-like choruses work effectively to create a strange, upper-range sound that is different from the musicality of their individual activities to date. The band's strangely upper-range sound, which seems to have been mutated by the collision of their individual personalities, is a delight. The band's sound is a combination of catchy melodies, high tension, and ethereal moods, all in a vintage style of the current heavy modern psychedelic music.
