Simon Marvin, keyboardist of Melbourne, Australia's proud FUTURE SOUL BAND Hiatus Cayote! Powerful debut EP from Brooklyn, NY's BASTARRD JAZZ! Simon is a keyboardist, producer and multi-instrumentalist. Theo Parrish of Detroit House has released "What You Gonna Ask For" on his SOUND SIGNATURE label, featuring Perrin Moss of Hiatus Cayote, Paul Bender, and Simon, and has been getting a lot of attention from the house music scene. The release of "What You Gonna Ask For" featuring Perrin Moss, Paul Bender, and Simon on the SOUND SIGNATURE label has attracted a lot of attention from the house music scene. The A-side, "Good Hair Day," is a groovy tune with elements of UK JAZZ and BROKEN BEATS, based on a piano loop with guitar and bass. Simon's keyboards, reminiscent of Herbie Hancock's 70's keyboard work, add an extra swell to this explosive FLOOR JAM. The remix was done by Harvey Sutherland of Melbourne.The tempo is increased to emphasize the BROKEN BEATS elements, and the cosmic synth bass and strings make the song seem to fly off into the galaxy. On the flip side, "Only You & Me" moves from a slow drum loop to a futuristic breakbeat boogie with a keyboard solo. The keyboard solo is a first-class modern boogie. The remix here was done by Melbourne's hot trio Close Counters. This is a floor use broken house with synth stabs & a driving bassline!
