Da Vinci, hailing from Oslo, Norway, is a melodic hard rock/AOR band that emerged in 1987, armed with sophisticated melodies reminiscent of Sweden's Europe and brilliant keyboard arrangements. Centered around vocalist Lars Aass, the band featured powerhouse musicians including technical guitarist Gunnar Westlie and Dag Selboskar, who mastered the keys with a lustrous touch. They secured a contract with Polygram. Their single "Forever In My Heart" became a smash hit, and their debut album sold over 20,000 copies. Their follow-up second album, 'Back in Business' (1989), featured more solid and pop-oriented tracks, releasing singles like "Call Me A Liar" and "9 and 10". They gained attention by supporting Status Quo on their UK tour. Unfortunately, member departures in 1990 halted their activities, but their work continues to shine as an indispensable part of the Nordic melodic scene.
