Thanasis Zlatanos

Description:

Thanasis Zlatanos is a Greek musician who played in MEDUSA, a band he formed with Bengt Jenssen (key) formerly of AUNT MARY and Luis Gambolini (drs) formerly of PAPPO'S BLUES/LA PESADA while living in Norway, as well as in the new wave band LUMBAGO in the early 80's. This is the debut solo album by Thanasis Zlatanos, a Greek musician who participated in the new wave band LUMBAGO in the early 80's. This album was independently released in '82 and re-released on CD by Norske Albumklassikere in Norway in '23. This is the debut album of NEKROPOLIS, which was formed with Marilena Zlatanou (vo/string), Sven Kalmar (drs), and Trygve Mathiesen (key), who later started the post-punk band YM-STAMMEN, although it is under the solo name Thanasis. This album is positioned as the debut album of NEKROPOLIS.The album is a post-punk sound that creates a distorted and twisted dystopian worldview, constructed with primitive electronics and cheap synths that twist and turn as the emotions take them, effects such as vocoders and echoes, and Marilena's thin-line vocals. The mastering was done by Giert Claussen, the engineer who handles all of the label's releases, using a newly remastered soundtrack based on the original LP.
