The Nidaros Cathedral Choir sings on the theme of "Mother," 200 years apart, in a recording by immersive audio specialist Motten Lindberg of 2L: "Mother. This word leads to memories and remembrances and all sorts of emotions. Which mother do you think of? A beautiful mother holding her newborn infant. Intimacy. A despairing mother in deep grief over the loss of a life. The emptiness ......". In their new album, the Nidaros Cathedral Choir sings works on the theme of the "mother" 200 years apart. Petra Björckhaug's "The Scar" and Domenico Scarlatti's "Stabat Mater (Our Lady of Sorrows)". The Scars, composed by Petra Bjorkhaug, the cathedral organist, is a work in ten parts. Mary was a maiden of great purity, Kirje Ereison. Mary trod on thorns and stones, weary and walked the road to Bethlehem, Jesus and Mary. ......" The "Song of Mary" sung from "On Her Knees" and "On Her Feet," which are extended lyrics taken from the "Old Testament" and the "New Testament," and the "Scars" from "On My Feet," written in the fourth century. The "Song of Mary," which is an adaptation of lyrics from the "Old Testament" and "New Testament," and the "All is Beautiful, Mary," a Catholic prayer written in the fourth century.It was written to explore "a musical language that responds to and contrasts with Scarlatti's music." On this album, the work is sung alternately with the ten parts of "Stabat Mater," from "Our Lady of Sorrows, in tears," to "Amen. Karen Haugom Olsen Karen Haugom Olsen (1980-), music director of Nidaros Cathedral and conductor of the Nidaros Cathedral Choir, conducts. Ditte Marie Braein(1985-), a soprano who studied at the Norwegian National College of Music and whose repertoire ranges from Baroque to today's music, and Swedish tenor Martin Vanberg(1979-) solo. Anna Carlsen Anna Carlsen(1981-) is a baroque cello player who plays in ensembles including "Barokkanerne Barokkanerne". A production by 2L's Motten Lindberg, a specialist in immersive audio. The "Rose Window" was session-recorded at Trondheim's famous Nidaros Cathedral.[Pure Audio Blu-ray disc and SACD hybrid disc are included in this album set. SACD hybrid discs can be played on SACD players and CD players, but Pure Audio Blu-ray discs cannot be played on CD or DVD players, so please use a Blu-ray player or a Blu-ray compatible PC] King International
