PETER GALLWAY, formerly of the FIFTH AVENUE BAND and recently in the duo HAT CHECK GIRL with ANNIE GALLUP, is back with his first solo release since 2013's "HELLO STRANGER". This is his latest work in 2015, which he describes as one of his most angry and despairing political works to date. Anger, sadness, shame, hope, despair, expectation, regret, belief, liberation, and prayer, spun with a unique fading description of scenes and cool narrative semi-spoken vocals.The theme is the world crisis that is happening right now: "DOWNTOWN FERGUSON", about the incident in Ferguson where a young black man was shot and killed by a white police officer; "THE DISTANCE OF MY FALL", inspired by the poet FEDERICO GARCIA LORCA, who was shot and killed in the Spanish Civil War; "REVERSAL", a warning against the past/present holocaust and genocide; "CEVERSAL", which oddly refers to a night in Paris. DISTANCE OF MY FALL" inspired by the poet FEDERICO GARCIA LORCA, who was gunned down in the Spanish Civil War; "REVERSAL," a warning against the Holocaust and genocide past and present; "CITRINE," a reference to a night in Paris, oddly enough; "BLOW THIS WORLD," a song about hope remaining, with some Gandhi references; folk as usual; and more, The essence of folk, pop, jazz, and Americana is expressed with a modern touch on all eight tracks.
