Preoccupations, a post-punk band from Calgary, Canada, has released their third album! After changing their name from Viet Cong, Preoccupations released their self-titled album under a new band name to rave reviews from Pitchfork, Billboard, and other media. Produced by Justin Mendel-Johnson, a talented producer who has worked with Wolf Alice, M83, Beck, and more! Calgary, Canada post-punk band Priocupations, who changed their name from Veto Con in 2016, will release their third album, "New Material" Following the release of their previous album in 2016, which received numerous media accolades, this album will be produced by Bon Iver and Dinosaur Jr. on the indie label Jagjaguwar. As vocalist Matt Flagel says, "This is a poem dedicated to depression (......), to depression, self-destruction, and the act of looking inside oneself with extreme hatred. This work delves into the darker side of their past works with an even greater sense of urgency.On the other hand, the sound, produced by the talented Justin Mendel-Johnson, who has worked with Wolf Alice, M83, and Beck, is so uplifting that it is "our most up-tempo work to date. According to member and multi-instrumentalist Scott Munroe, "The ultimate goal is to make a record where you don't know what instruments are playing," and with this album, "we've come the closest to that goal. The production aspect of the album is also noteworthy, as the band aimed to create a sound that is not robotic, but human-like, but in such a way that the listener cannot tell what instrument it is.
