Following *Season of Glass*, which depicted the deep grief she felt after losing John Lennon, this album expresses hope and a will to move forward—a message of “life goes on.” Fusing chorus work reminiscent of 1960s girl groups with synthesizers and electronics that were cutting-edge at the time, the album boldly incorporates elements of New Wave and dance music, yet it stands as a pop album that goes beyond mere experimentation.
