This is the third studio album by the American melodic hard rock band SOLDIER, recorded in the late 1980s, and the final album of their career. After the AC/DC-like riffs and hair-metal catchiness of their previous album "Soldier Of Fortune," SOLDIER pursued more sophisticated melodies and arrangements on this album, and the live sound and mainstream hard rock trends of the time, cultivated in the L.A. club scene (Whisky a Go Go, Troubadour, Roxy, etc.), are still present on this album. This album is a fusion of the live sound developed in the L.A. club scene (Whisky a Go Go, Troubadour, Roxy, etc.) and the mainstream hard rock trends of the time. This album maintains the momentum of the previous album, but is characterized by a more melodic and pop-sensitive composition. The guitars remain sharp and chorus-heavy, and the vocal line has a lyrical quality reminiscent of ENUFF Z'NUFF or WHITE LION. The band mainly plays mid-tempo hard rock numbers and melodic tunes for radio, which strongly evokes the atmosphere of the last phase of L.A. metal at that time. The rhythm section is tight and the band's club-trained togetherness shines through.As a result, "Stereo" is a work that shows SOLDIER's musical maturity and at the same time reflects the end of the golden age of hard rock in the 1980s. Combining power and melancholy, this album boasts an imposing degree of perfection befitting of their last album.
