Sophia Vaillon brings out the individuality of each work! This ambitious program brings together works by famous women composers such as Tailleferre and Boulanger, women composers who have become better known in recent years such as Hélène de Montgerud and Louise Falanch, and women composers who are still unknown to the general public. Some pieces are lighthearted, some virtuoso, some expressive, and some poetic. The program was deliberately composed to highlight the individuality of each composer, and the audience was captivated by the program. The program includes Hélène de Montgerud, the first female professor at the Paris Conservatory; Louise Falanques, who taught at the Paris Conservatory for a long time in the 19th century, and who continued to complain about the unfair salary gap between men and women; Edith Rouget, professor emerita at the Paris Conservatory and also taught at the Ecole Normale de Musique; and It is interesting to note that many of these individuals are closely associated with the Academy, including Edith Canat de Chigi, the first female composer to be elected as a member of the Académie des Beaux-Arts.
