The debut album by mclusky, the UK three-piece band known for their intense noise rock, has been remastered and reissued! Originally released in 2000 on Fuzzbox, and reissued in 2003 by *TooPure* (part of the Beggars Group), *My Pain and Sadness Is More Sad and Painful Than Yours* introduced the Cardiff-based band mclusky to the world as a tense, new voice in the UK rock scene. This album, which captures the band’s raw and most direct moments, established mclusky’s unique blend of metronomic guitars, dark humor, and Andrew Falkous’s sharp, often absurdist lyricism. Preceding later critically acclaimed works such as *Mclusky Do Dallas* and *The Difference Between Me and You Is That I’m Not on Fire*, this debut album captures the band in a more unfiltered state—unstable and direct. While tracks like “Joy” and “Rice Is Nice” foreshadow the precision and sharpness to come, much of the album drives forward with repetition, tension, and release in an almost unsettling minimalism. Twenty-six years later, the album has been remastered by Sean Magee at Abbey Road Studios and is being reborn for a modern audience on 180g black vinyl, retaining the original artwork. *My Pain and Sadness Is More Sad and Painful Than Yours* remains an essential document chronicling the beginnings of mclusky.
