Modern Sound Quartet

Description:

The most powerful library groove from Milan is finally back on 7". The Modern Sound Quartet was one of the most "in the know" in the Italian library scene in the 70's. Although their existence was short-lived and their output under their own name was minimal, this quartet, led by Oscar Rocchi, was one of Milan's finest craftsmen, influencing countless uncredited soundtracks. The quartet, led by Oscar Rocchi, is Milan's premier group of craftsmen, influencing countless uncredited soundtracks. The members are Oscar Rocchi (piano/composer), Andrea Surdi (drums), Luigi Cappellotto (bass), and Ernesto Verardi (guitar). While he has the ability to be named alongside Rome-based I Marc 4 and I Gres, he has carved his own path around urban, electric grooves that cross from late-night club sessions to Italian song support and library recordings. This box set focuses on the funkiest side of the group, featuring tracks from popular releases such as Erbe Selvatiche (1977), Floreama (1977), Horoscope (1978), and I Tarocchi (1980) that DJs and beat-makers have been clamoring for. DJs and beatmakers crave. Also included is a strong track from the group's original Pop-Paraphrenia (1973), featuring the young Tullio De Piscopo. All of the tracks on the album have never appeared on 7" before. In a format that maximizes rhythmic punch, the true value of Modern Sound Quartet - scorching drum breaks, taut bass lines, cinematic electric jazz funk --The music is vividly alive. Don't miss Eric Adrian Lee's artwork, which recreates the aesthetics of the 70's library. A must have for Italian libraries, rare grooves, and beatmakers. The best collection of breaks from Milan's shadowy figurehead is finally available in a box.
