James Joyce (1882-1941), one of the most important writers of the 20th century, was born in Ireland. The University College Dublin Choral Society performed the world's first attempt to sing music to his collection of poems "Chamber Music". James Joyce, a tenor singer as well as a novelist, was delighted to have his poems set to music by a number of contemporary composers. Desmond Earley, artistic director of the University College Dublin Choir, who also participated in the project, said that it was "an honor and a pleasure for us" to make this recording. Tokyo M-Plus
