Mozart specialist Ian Page, renowned for his recordings of Mozart's early works conducted by classical opera conductors, formed the newly formed ensemble Mozartisz in 2017, and this is the third volume of the major project "Sturm und Drang"! This seven-volume series explores the Sturm und Drang movement that swept the art world from the 1760s to the 1780s, and Volume 1 (SIGCD619) and Volume 2 (SIGCD636) were both selected as "Editor's Choice" by Gramophone magazine. This work opens with the first Mozart work in the series and closes with Haydn's masterful Symphony No. 44, "The Sorrows," a masterpiece of Haydn's fast and furious symphonic music. In between are intense opera arias by Schweitzer, Paisiello, and others, and Kogelf's masterpiece, the G minor Symphony. Tokyo M-Plus
